Between jobs

Release the assignment. Not the worker.

When a job winds down, most contractors choose between paying people with nothing to bill and losing them. With CrewTank, you release the assignment instead. Your workers stay in the CrewTank network and may be placed on other assignments. When your next job starts, you can ask for them back. Recalls depend on availability, active assignments are respected, and workers choose which new assignments they accept.

On the jobsite

You stay in control.

Your supervisor. Your site. Your scope. Your standards. CrewTank handles the employment paperwork. You keep running the work.

Who we are

Built on 38+ years in workforce management.

CrewTank was founded by Steve Holmes, who has spent more than 38 years in workforce management. It’s built on one idea: contractors shouldn’t have to choose between carrying a crew through the gaps and losing it.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is CrewTank a staffing agency or a PEO?+

CrewTank is a construction workforce network. It works both ways: when you have more workers than work, you can release assignments instead of carrying idle payroll; when you have more work than workers, you can request additional skilled labor from the network. Payroll and employment administration are supporting services, not the point.

What’s a labor-cost comparison?+

We line up what your crew costs today (wages, payroll taxes, workers’ comp by class code, any benefit costs and admin) against CrewTank’s line-by-line pricing, using your numbers. If your current setup comes out ahead, we’ll tell you.

What does CrewTank cost?+

CrewTank is built around transparent, class-specific pricing — not a one-size-fits-all markup.

You pay the worker’s wage, payroll taxes, workers’ compensation based on the applicable class code, benefit funding where it applies, and a CrewTank service fee. Contractors who move their existing workforce onto CrewTank receive our lowest service fee, while workers sourced from the CrewTank network carry a higher fee.

Before you put anyone on a job, you can see the expected hourly cost. We can also compare CrewTank against your current payroll, workers’ compensation, benefit and employment costs so you can see the economics for yourself.

How does a labor request work?+

Submit a labor request from your phone with the trade, headcount, jobsite and schedule. CrewTank confirms the work fits an approved trade and class code, then notifies workers in the network who match.

Workers choose which assignments they accept. When a match accepts, you see who is coming before they arrive. Availability depends on trade, location, schedule and demand, so we can’t guarantee a specific number of workers or a response time.

Workers placed through CrewTank have their onboarding, documentation and applicable safety information on file.

What trades does CrewTank support?+

CrewTank works with Phoenix-metro contractors in approved trades and workers’ compensation class codes, including concrete and flatwork, masonry, carpentry and framing, drywall, lath, plaster and insulation, painting, plumbing, electrical work within buildings, sprinkler installation, tile and glazing, welding, fencing, landscaping, general labor and debris removal, site and civil work, and trucking.

Some work is outside the CrewTank program, including roofing, any work above 15 feet (subject to approved underwriting rules), structural iron and steel erection, asbestos and hazardous-material work, electric power line and high-voltage work, shaft sinking, and other exposures outside our approved workers’ compensation program. Excavation and trenching are referral only and reviewed case by case. HVAC and equipment-operator work are not available yet.

Every placement is classified by the work actually performed and confirmed before dispatch. Not sure whether your project qualifies? Send us the scope of work and we’ll tell you whether it fits the CrewTank program before you post the job.

See if your job qualifies
How does CrewTank verify who's actually on my jobsite?+

Time is verified at every punch: GPS and photo checks for workers who opt in, with staff review for everyone else.

GPS location checks and photo verification are optional and each requires the worker's separate consent. Workers who decline either one record their hours through staff-verified timekeeping. Every compensable hour is paid regardless of consent, a technical failure or a billing dispute.

That gives contractors a stronger record of who worked, where they worked and when they worked — without relying on shared badges or paper timesheets.

What happens between projects?+

When a project ends or your labor needs change, you can release the assignment without carrying idle payroll between jobs.

Those workers stay in the CrewTank network and may be placed on other assignments. When your next project starts, you can ask for workers you've used before. Recalls depend on availability: if a worker is on an active assignment, that assignment is respected, and workers choose which new assignments they accept.

Is CrewTank available in my area?+

CrewTank is launching across the Phoenix metropolitan area, including Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria and communities throughout the Valley.

From there, we're building toward broader Arizona coverage based on contractor demand and worker availability.

If you're outside our current service area, tell us where you're working and we'll let you know as coverage expands.
